Ugh, sorry to hear. It does look like southern New England and New York are going to get hammered. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone in that area.

Sorry to hear about your water problems Bull. Our area has been flooding again too. Lucky for us, there was a small break in the clouds all day, that was right over our part of the county. We have had only 9/10 of an inch while everyone else has small stream flooding and almost 3 inches of rain. Right now my biggest problem is that, no one to help me with the rototilling in the greenhouses.
Oh the greenhouses are finally finished and I had my farm visit for the free High tunnel two weeks ago. I am supposed to hear soon if one of the 400 tunnels in NY State will be mine. I am not overly concerned one way or another. I would however love to get help with irrigation for the tunnels I already have. The FSA lady says we are approved for the agricultural irrigation grant up to $2500 for a new well plus more money for all the plumbing to set up our greenhouses and field irrigation. That is going to help us a whole lot.
I have been on the computer all evening trying to find out what rules there are for growing and selling bean sprouts in NY. I am not finding any information on the Ag and Markets site. I sent an email to the NY State Farmer's Market Federation, maybe they know something. A guy at Ag and Markets says I need a 20-c license but I couldn't find any mention on their website or any information about what a 20-c entails. The guy was pretty vague on the phone and sounded as if he was making up most of what he was telling me on the phone. The odd thing was he called me, I did not call him, so I have been wondering if it just wasn't someone who did not want me to take their business. Maybe , I am just being paranoid because I am tired ?

Linda - I know you're on dial up. If you want something researched, please let me know. I'll do what I can to find what you're looking for.
I know you would have to have your well tested at least annually, but will look for official information.
Are you still doing the Otsiningo Market? Does she know anything about it?
