We have approximately 5 yards of Hardwood Sawdust for sale at $8.00 a yard. We will load but it does need to be picked up in Barnet, VT.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks Tammi

Wish, I needed sawdust !!! I would buy it just to go to Barnet VT, that is one of the prettiest little towns I've ever been too !!!
Went there about 1980 on a church retreat, stayed at a small hillside church near a jersey farm !!! I believe it was a bit west of town, there's was also a great little general store there.... I could go on !!!!
I worked for a family back here ( Murray ) who had family there (Sommers) !!

I love Barnet... great town to raise a family in. I know the church you are talking about; I usually attend Christmas Eve Service at it. The Sommers are still in town.

Is the Jersey farm still there, The people from our church bought only one %
milk and being a farm boy I only drank raw milk, so I dumped out a couple of gallons on the white water and hoofed it up to that farm and got the raw milk right out of the bulk tank from those folks ! We had to make another milk run because everone wanted the raw milk !! Lots of great memories from that trip.
We loaded 30 kids in the back of a Kurbmaster bread trcuk and made the trip all the way to Barnet "without one seatbelt" !!!!

Is the Church still heated with that big old wood furnace, we had to help an old gent light it early in the am before we could attend sunday service

The church isn't heated at all anymore! They only use it for summer services and then again for Christmas Eve Service; nice candlelight ceremony. We always have to wear a winter coat.

The Farm is still up the road; few cows but they do have goats and horses now. The family that lives there uses the work horses to do the fields. So I'm assuming you all stayed in the Retreat House that is next to the church? They still have groups coming up for retreats all summer long. I would dare to say that they are not climbing the hill to go after raw milk anymore.

Thanks for sharing your memories

Yes we stayed in the building next to the church and had a great time. May plan a road trip in the fall. My wife was not part of my life back then so she is interested in seeing what was so intriguing to me about a quant little Vermont Town

That is great Bull..... Let me know if you want any sawdust to bring home with you! LOL.

If you would like a Bread & Breasfast I would suggest you try the Inn at Maplemont Farm (the owners are really nice people). here is a link for some information on it. http://www.roadlodging.com/road/Verm...d_lodging.html

St Johnsbury is only 15 minutes North; here are a couple of hotels.
Fairbanks Inn LLC - (802) 748-5666
Comfort Inn - (802) 748-1500

I hope this helps!
