Syracuse and the surround areas were blessed with anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of heavy, wet snow overnight, so the early morning attendance was light. Another result of the weather was the cancellation of the gas leasing sessions, unfortunately.
However, the sun came out and traffic was steady throughout the day.

I did speak with a farmer to day from western New York about the tough last year and what his thoughts might be for the future in his area. He had to pull over $20,000 from savings (which he admits he was glad to have set aside over the years) to keep his 5-cow dairy afloat in 2009, along with the maples he taps. He's considering doing greenhouses with hydroponics to grow year-round as an additional income source.
Tomorrow's weather doesn't look too bad with some scattered snow showers, so there's lots of optimism that attendance will be big.
If you'll be visiting tomorrow, we hope to see you at Booth 46 in the International Building!
