Default weather

what the %%&^(%$ is up with this weather, early heat, then cold, then rain, then dry, now rain ?????? too much of each at the same time, whats next...

We just had about 3 inches of rain over the past couple days and now I have beans and corn swimming !!! I don't like puddles in my gardens !!!

I would rather be irrigating than, having too much rain all at once. I am hopeful I can stay on my planting schedule !!

No kidding. It's been one odd spring/summer so far here in the NE. We had two sunny days in a row. In a row! But it rained hard last night again to break the streak. Looks like more through the week, too...

The weather has set me more than two weeks behind schedule. I usually have cucumbers to market by now. They are not even running yet. I am going to my first Farmer's Market on Friday. All I have is spring onions, garlic scapes radishes and the most beautiful spinach I have ever grown. My peas are flowering but I doubt they will have any snow peas in time. Tomatoes eggplant and peppers are all in flower. tomatillos are loaded with fruit. Beans do not want to get started and crows have literally eaten every corn plant . Squashes look great pumpkins are slow. Onions are magnificent and so is garlic. Swiss Chard is close to being ready to pick. Broccoli Raab never germinated. Beets are coming along. Cabbage is huge but weeks away. I really need a money transfusion though. I am researching growing Certified Organic bedding plants to sell at next years Spring Market. No one is selling them here at this time.

Just saw the weather report for up north, and we're due for even more rain through the weekend... ugh! We've still got puddles in the garden from the last few days!

EditorBob I was going to admonish you for your negitivity about the weather but sadly I heard the latest news about the weather on tv we are entering an el nino phase at this time. Brace yourselves to expect continued cold rainy weather for the remainder of the summer . I may plant more cool weather crops to compensate. I have about 15 pounds of onion sets and 1/4 pound of turnip and various cole crop seeds just have to find more ground to plant them. I think I need to order more spinach seed.

I'm certainly keeping my fingers crossed that at some point summer rolls in, but the next week doesn't look promising, unfortunately
